Pako app · Daily targets
A good day for your dog is more than a full bowl.
What they eat and drink, how far they walk, their medicine, their coat and their training all shape how they feel. The good news is that staying on top of it is simpler than you think. Pako turns it into a short list of daily targets, made for your dog.
Everything today needs, on one screen.
Open Pako and the day is laid out for you: targets for nutrition, activity, medical, grooming and behaviour, each with a quick way to log it. No more wondering what you’ve forgotten.
Numbers made for your dog, not dogs in general.
Pako works out calories, protein, fat, fibre, water and meals from your dog’s weight, age, neuter status, activity and goal. A growing puppy, a working dog and a quiet senior each get their own numbers.
For example, a neutered 20 kg adult with everyday activity:
Care that goes beyond the bowl.
Add the targets that fit your routine, and set each one daily, weekly or monthly. Nothing is required, and you can create your own.
Their whole plan in one tap. Or your own numbers.
Apply every Pako recommendation at once, or set any target yourself. Your own edits always stay yours. Pick a goal and the numbers follow it: maintain weight, lose weight, gain weight, support growth, senior support or performance.
Logging takes seconds.
Tap the plus button to scan a barcode, look up a whole food, build a meal or type it in. Add water with a tap, or let Pako assume your dog drinks their goal each day.
See how the day went, at a glance.
Each area gets a rating from one to five, and the whole day gets a verdict. An area with nothing due stays neutral, so a quiet day never counts against you.
Questions
Can I set my own targets?
Yes. Set any target yourself, or apply Pako’s recommendations in one tap. Targets you set by hand are never overwritten.
Where do the numbers come from?
Calories start from resting energy, 70 × body weight in kg to the power of 0.75, multiplied by a factor for life stage, neuter status, activity and goal, following WSAVA and NRC guidance. See the science.
Does breed change the targets?
Energy needs follow weight and lifestyle far more than breed, so breed isn’t part of an adult dog’s numbers. For puppies, breed helps estimate how big they’ll get, which shapes their growth targets.
What decides the day rating?
How complete each area’s targets are. Every target met earns a five. An area with nothing due that day doesn’t count against you.
Do I have to hit every target?
No. Add only the targets that fit your routine. The point is a clear picture of the day, not a perfect score.
What if my dog needs to lose weight?
Choose Lose weight and set a goal weight. Pako bases their calories on the goal weight for a gentle, steady change. Agree the goal weight with your vet first.
My dog has a medical condition. Should I follow these targets?
Talk to your vet first. If your dog is on a prescribed diet, their vet’s advice comes first, and you can enter those numbers as your own targets.
